Vermont's Green Mountains with Comedian Carl Hurley
Two Day - One Night Package
June 18 - 19, 2013

Come join us for a fabulous getaway to the Green Mountain State of Vermont and enjoy an evening with America's Funniest Professor, Carl Hurley.

Carl Hurley “is probably the most played artist on XM’s (Satellite Radio) Laugh USA,” says Sonny Fox, XM’s comedy programmer. “He is the epitome of our slogan ‘good, clean fun,’ He makes you laugh and appreciate life at the same time. Carl is the funny uncle we all wish we had in our family…he is one of a kind.”

Day One
Today we board the coach for a day of touring in Vermont's Green Mountains. Our first stop today takes us to the charming town of Woodstock, VT. Enjoy free time for lunch and shopping in this wonderful village. Don't forget to visit Gillingham's Country Store, where you can find everything you need under one roof. This afternoon we visit Billing's Farm and Museum, an 1890 historic working farm. Explore their manicured grounds, visit their working dairy barn, the Vermont farm life museum and the 1890 farmhouse. We continue to our hotel in Rutland, VT where we will spend the evening. A delicious dinner is included this evening at the hotel. We board the coach for the historic Paramount Theater. In the early part of the 20th century, many called The Playhouse Theatre of Rutland, Vermont one of the finest theatres in America and very few, reportedly, were more artistically designed or appointed. Built in 1912 & 1913 by George T. Chaffee. The Theatre opened on January 16, 1914. The classical style exterior architecture of the building reflected the "City Beautiful" movement of the time, while the interior took on the look of a Victorian opera house. The theatre provided seating for 1000 patrons in the orchestra, balcony, and 6 boxes flanking the proscenium arch. Top performers traveling via the Rutland Railroad between Montreal and Boston, would stop to perform in The Playhouse. Minstrel shows, grand and light opera, and vaudeville, and appearances by Tom Thumb, Will Rogers, Sarah Bernhardt, Ethel Barrymore, and The Great Houdini, delighted local audiences. Tonight we enjoy an evening of music and comedy with the 'Carl Hurley Show'. (D)

Day Two
Following a hearty breakfast, we board the coach for a little touring before beginning our journey home. Our first stop takes us to Hildene (Summer Home of Robert Todd Lincoln) where you will enjoy a guided tour of his home, gardens and restored Pullman Rail Car.
