Two Days - One Night Revolutionary History Tour

Day 1: Group arrival at Fort Ticonderoga (Captured by Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys in 1775) for a guided tour by guides in 18th century uniforms. A picnic lunch will be provided for the group at the fort. Following the tour we'll travel across Lake Champlain to the Brandon Inn where we'll spend the evening. Dinner will be served at the Inn followed by a live historical presentation in the living room.

Day 2: A hearty breakfast will be served at the Inn. This morning we'll board the coach for a trip to the Hubbardton Battlefield where on July 7, 1777 the first of several battles resisting the British invasion was fought in the hills of Hubbardton. Here, at the only Revolutionary War Battle fought in Vermont, an American rear guard helped stem the tide of General Bugoyne's Northern Campaign. Lunch today will be served at the Ponderosa Steakhouse in Rutland. Our last stop today will take us to the Bennington Battle Monument (Dedicated to General John Stark and the Green Mountain Boys) was the site where military supplies had been stored. Following the stop you will depart for home.

The Lodge at Mount Snow

Day 1: Group arrival at Adam's Farm in Wilmington, Vermont. Learn to view Vermont in a whole new perspective through the eyes of a farmer. Delight in this humorous presentation on the workings; past present and future of this 5th generation family farm. Hands-on audience participation. Enjoy a hayride through the maple grove to a log cabin at the edge of the forest for a warm up by the wood fires, or on warmer days, under the party tent in and among the friendly farm animals for a cultural heritage presentation. Lunch is TBD. This afternoon we'll visit the Hermitage Inn for a maple sugaring presentation in a working Vermont Sugarhouse. Following our stop at the Hermitage we'll travel to the Lodge at Mount snow where we'll spend the evening. Enjoy a hearty dinner served at the inn. Following dinner we'll enjoy a comical history presentation.
Day 2: Breakfast is served at the inn. Following breakfast we'll board the coach for a trip to the Bennington Museum (Home of the Grandma Moses Schoolhouse) for a guided tour. Our next stop takes us to the Bennington Monument where we'll be served at picnic lunch. This afternoon we'll visit the Old First Church for a presentation before departing for home.

Two Days - One Night

Day 1: Group arrival at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. Discover why Lake Champlain is considered the most historic body of water in North America. Explore the vibrant history and characters of the Champlain Valley through its military, commercial, and regional periods. View a large collection of original small watercraft built over the last 150 years. Step back in time as you climb aboard the 54â square rigged Revolutionary War gunboat replica Philadelphia II and learn about the life of citizen soldiers in the Champlain Valley in 1776. Today we will arrive at the Best Western in Burlington where we will spend the evening. Dinner this evening is served at the hotel. This evening enjoy a swim in the indoor pool or other activities.

Day 2: Enjoy continental breakfast served at the hotel. This morning board the coach for a trip to the Shelburne Museum. Capture the Spirit of the Shelburne Museum where you can step back in time and discover New England's historic heritage. Inside the gates you will find 37 exhibition buildings nestled on 45 beautifully landscaped acres, home to 80,000 artifacts of everyday life and collections of fine, folk and decorative art. Step aboard the sidewheel steamboat Ticonderoga, a National Historic Landmark. Much to see and do. Lunch is on your own or a lunch may be provided for the group. Our last stop today will be a fun stop at the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory where we'll enjoy a guided tour to see how our furryfriends our made. Depart for home.

Bennington Museum/Old First Church
Bennington Battle Monument

History is Here!... Join us and see... The largest public exhibition of paintings by Grandma Moses. Here you will enjoy a presentation on the revolutionary war by the museum teacher. Your group will view a large collection of military artifacts as well at the Bennington Flag, considered one of the oldest Stars and Stripes in existence.

In 1777, General John Stark, aided by the Green Mountain Boys, defeated the King's troops. The object of this famous Battle of Bennington was the site where military supplies had been stored. In place of the storehouse stands a 306 foot monolith. An elevator now takes visitors to the observation floor where one can see valleys and rolling hills of three states.

The Old First Congregational Church built in the 1700's is the next stop where you will enjoy a program by the church staff on the workings of the church. Outside of the church you may visit the gravesite of Robert Frost.
