Vermont: Rockefellers, Morgan Horses and Historic Farms

Experience some of America's most distinctive natural and man-made assets amid the hillsides, pastures, orchards and farms of the Green Mountain State. We explore the agricultural diversity at a Lake Champlain apple orchard. A trip to the University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm traces the development of the oldest U.S. breed of light horses. The 1890 Billings Farm, a living museum of Vermont's rural past, is part of the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park where we learn the history of conservation and land stewardship. An inside look at the Rockefeller Estate is a special highlight. We conclude with an excursion through the heritage district of charming Brandon, a town that calls itself unhurried and unspoiled.

Walking up to 2 miles on one day, with rest under 1.5 miles. Some standing at the Rockefeller.

Brandon

With its entire downtown recorded on the National Register of Historic Places and the town’s bucolic location among the rolling hills of central Vermont, Brandon is a unique, historic destination near the Green Mountains.
